## Ghost Job Detection

Ghost jobs are postings that are expired, never intended to be filled, or recycled listings kept live to build candidate pipelines. Just Apply scores every job posting for ghost probability.

### How It Works

Every job listing receives a ghost score from 0.0 to 1.0:
- **0.0-0.3**: Low risk - fresh posting, active company, consistent hiring pattern
- **0.3-0.7**: Moderate risk - some stale signals, worth applying but monitor
- **0.7-1.0**: High risk - flagged as likely ghost; de-prioritized in search by default

### Score Factors

- **Posting age**: How long the job has been live without being filled
- **Company hiring pattern**: Whether this company regularly posts-then-fills or posts-without-hiring
- **Repost frequency**: Same role reposted multiple times across boards or over time
- **Career page health**: Whether the role still appears on the company's own careers page
- **Company door score**: Companies with low door scores (not actively hiring) produce more ghosts
- **Response data**: Aggregate application outcome data from Just Apply users (anonymized)
